- Account Information: Email address, display name, and password when you create an account
- Recipe Data: Recipes you save, including ingredients, instructions, and external image URLs you provide or that are found in recipe source metadata
- Preferences: Your preferred measurement units and app settings
- Payment Information: When you subscribe to Pro, payment is processed by our Merchant of Record, Paddle. We do not store your credit card details. Paddle handles all payment processing, invoicing, and sales tax compliance.

- Usage Data: How you interact with the app (features used, recipes parsed)
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, browser type
- Log Data: IP address, access times, pages viewed

- Service Providers: Companies that help us operate (Supabase for database, Paddle for payments, Vercel for hosting, and Anthropic for AI processing)

- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
Data Retention
- Account Data: Retained while your account is active
- Recipe Data: Retained until you delete recipes or your account
- Usage Logs: Retained for 90 days
When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
External Image Links
Caption Cook stores only the image URL you provide and does not upload or re-host the image. You are responsible for ensuring the image may be linked and displayed.
